Here Comes the Bride(s)!

Calm Amongst the Chaos entered Ringwood's 85th Carnival on the 20th of September with an award winning float entitled 'Here Comes the Bride(s)!'. The float consisted of nine beautiful brides with a whole wedding party in tow; from Mother of the Bride to the Mad Minister of Chaos! The aim was to show off Chaos' love of all things vintage, with a wedding dress for every era since the 1920's adorning the float. Frances Farmer, founder of Calm Amongst the Chaos, wanted to express 'our love for everything glamorous' and to encourage the brides of today to 'be individual and be inspired by the past.' Calm Amongst the Chaos, situated in the heart of Ringwood, felt obliged to be part of such a fun event and let the town know what a great experience having a made to measure dress is. Much like on their float, Chaos also makes bridesmaids dresses and outfits for mothers of the bride and groom, in fact just about any evening or occasion wear you can imagine. They offer a first class service, which is why on Saturday night in the evening procession of the carnival they won first prize in category four- and were over the moon!

A competition was run in honour of the carnival to win a free wedding dress by Calm Amongst the Chaos! With many applicants, the winner will be announced at the end of October, and a diary of their experience of having a wedding dress made at Chaos will be featured monthly on their blog www.theweddingdressdesigner.blogspot.com and their website www.calmamingstthechaos.co.uk.

Just a taster!

Our latest lovely bride was Sarah, who got married today at Ringwood gateway with fuchsia bridesmaids and a traditional horse and cart. Here are just a few of the photos we managed to snap of her, and there will be a full blog post of her big day to follow soon.

We also made the mother of the bride, Jane's, outfit- a gorgeous magenta pink number.
The bridesmaids wore the multi-way Libby dress by Chaos in fuchsia.

From what we saw we expect they'll have a lovely day and can't wait to see more of the photos. Check back soon for all the details of their wedding day.

Starspiration! #1

The stars of the past that inspire our dresses of today.
Frances Farmer was our original inspiration here at Chaos, with her effortless 40's glamour she was a real, tortured beauty of glamorous old Hollywood. Born in Seattle in 1913 Frances was independent and hardworking and on her 22nd birthday was signed to Paramount on a seven year contract and moved to Hollywood.

All our bespoke wedding dresses that we design and create here at Chaos are named after great Hollywood actresses from the past. We therefore, of course, have a dress named Frances. The first and a firm favorite with the team at Chaos it has been featured in our permanent collection since we started.

Frances is a 1940's styled gown made in liquid silk with chiffon and silk tulle godets and statement collar. Inspired by her simple, elegant style Frances is a true classic and when brides come and try dresses from our collection on, Frances is often the dress that inspires their design.
