Jam Jars and Pom Poms for a Chapel Wedding

Georgia and Richie tied the knot on the 9th of May and we thought there was no wedding more fitting than theirs to welcome you to our blog. They married at Crow Chapel, Ringwood, Hampshire and their reception was held at Christchurch Harbour Hotel.
When we first met Georgia she was quite uncertain about everything, especially her dress, so after a brief chat she went away to gather ideas and really decide on the style of her wedding. When she returned she was armed with inspiration and the process of having her dress made-to-measure was under way. We, obviously, think the outcome was stunning.
"Richie and I first met on a blind date set up by my friend. Richie sent a taxi to pick me up and when I arrived he was wearing a pink cowboy hat and a sheriffs badge-apparently so I would know it was him. He handed me three envelopes each containing a different plan for the night- I picked the one with cocktails and an Italian meal. When we arrived my favourite cocktail was on the table and then there was a casino- he really did woo me! We were engaged on mothers day 2013, Richie giving me a personalised card to look like a magazine front cover with the headline Will You Marry Me! He then got down on one knee and surrounded by our three boys it was a lovely family moment."

"For the style of our wedding I knew I wanted it to be miss matched vintage with a shabby chic edge; Cath Kidston meets old fashioned. I decided I wanted to do it all myself and include lots of detail, so I catalogued all my research and inspiration in a scrap book- even choosing the lace ribbon I liked to create texture!"

"We wanted to get married in the church we go to and have done for four years as we have had lots of family moments there. We then held our reception by the sea as it's a happy place with fond memories; hours of crabbing and long walks at Mudeford with my granny Mary, therefore the Harbour Hotel ticked all the boxes."

"Friends and family made pom poms and collected jam jars to bring wild flowers to the church in. I came home to bags on the doorstep full of plates from charity shops that friends had collected-each plate with its own story. I collected fabric from reduced bins and vintage bottles and it all paid off, with every detail noticed by everyone. It looked and was home made, exactly as I wanted it."
Georgia wore a silk crepe satin gown by Calm Amongst the Chaos , featuring a key hole back and tulle overlay with embellished lace, further embellished with handmade dusty pink flowers. Her dress was based on Claudette, a heavily embellished boho style gown from our latest collection. She adored all of the detail and being very princess like in personality it suited her perfectly!
"The best part about my day was my dress, failing to say hello to my groom when I reached him at the alter and seeing the love we both felt for one another. I loved having my dress made and the whole process with Chaos, I couldn't bear the thought that I wouldn't be coming back again! Such a wonderful experience."

We are thrilled that Georgia and Richie had such a perfect day and we are honoured that she wanted us to make her dress and be a part of her special occasion. We wish them all the best for the future,
Frances and the Chaotic team.
